Description

This is a unique opportunity to join a forward thinking, innovative Children's Service who are seeking an exceptional candidate with a recognised professional Social Work qualification (e.g. Degree in Social Work, Dip SW or CQSW) to fill their Deputy Team Manager post in the MASH Team.

Reporting directly to the Team Manager in MASH, the post holder will deputise for the Team Manager and assist in the execution of all managerial functions relating to the smooth running of the social care teams in Targeted Support.

Working in collaboration with Team Manager in supervising and supporting Social Care staff, to provide a range of family support services for children in need, including those in need of protection, children looked after, those subject to public care proceedings and where directed by the court those subject to private care proceedings.

The post holder will be responsible for developing skills, expertise and knowledge for a wide range of practice issues and provide consultation, coaching and mentoring within the Team and across the Service as a whole. This will include taking responsibility to maintain and develop professional links and leads with partner agencies and the voluntary sector to improve the quality of work done by social workers; including effective case management, purposeful evidence based interventions, analytical assessments and high quality written work.

To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills and experience:

  • Able to assist the Team Manager in managing the Team budget, information and quality assuring work
  • Ability to undertake professional supervision of a number of Social workers within the team structure
  • An ability to oversee complex assessments
  • Provision of professionals supervision and development of practitioner skills and expertise
