HSCB Learning and Development Officer

12 hours per week

Located 10 miles from the city centre and just 13 minutes to Euston from Harrow & Wealdstone station there are great transport links via the Metropolitan Line, Watford DC Line and national rail service. It is easily accessible to the M1, M25 and A406.

Harrow Safeguarding Children Board (HSCB) is looking for a Learning and Development Officer to join their team.  The post holder will report to the HSCB Business Manager and will be responsible for the development, delivery and review of the multi-agency Learning and Development strategy

The post holder will develop, co-ordinate and commission the HSCB’s multi-agency training programme and learning events,  ensuring that HSCB multi-agency training meets statutory requirements and is responsive to learning from serious case reviews and local audits.

The post holder will also ensure that training provided adheres to the Council’s equal opportunities policy and statement.

To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills & experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning strategies
  • Knowledge of legislative framework in Safeguarding
  • Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating the impact of training
  • Excellent literacy skills with the ability to produce well-structured reports and strategies – high standard of accuracy & clarity of record keeping
  • Experience of direct work with children and young people
