Description

Harrow Council is the 12th largest London Borough by area and one of the most culturally diverse local authorities in the UK, making it a great place to live, work and visit. Located 10 miles from the city centre and just 13 minutes to Euston from Harrow & Wealdstone station there are great transport links via the Metropolitan Line, Watford DC Line and national rail service. It is easily accessible to the M1, M25 and A406.

Harrow Council’s Social Care Service are currently recruiting for a Complaints and Freedom of Information Officer to join their Complaints Service. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support to the Complaints Manager in the management and administration of service user complaints, representations from elected members and MPs, Freedom of Information requests, Data Protection Act requests and schools service level agreement.

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of complaints procedures and the knowledge to manage and resolve disputes. Understanding and experience of FOI/DPA is preferable.
  • Experience of investigation or facilitating investigation processes. Experience of facilitating reviews is preferable.
  • Demonstrate experience or capability of delivering effective training sessions to a range of audiences
  • Well developed skills for dealing with vulnerable, angry and distressed people in a positive transformational way
  • A well-developed high standard of writing skills to produce a variety of written materials
