Harrow Council is the 12th largest London borough by area and one of the most culturally diverse local authorities in the UK, making it a great place to live, work and visit. Located 10 miles from the city centre and just 13 minutes to Euston from Harrow & Wealdstone station there are great transport links via the Metropolitan Line, Watford DC Line and national rail service. It is easily accessible to the M1, M25 and A406.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Analyst to provide  expert analytical support to the team from various sources of information. To do this competently the post holder will need to be proficient with numerous systems, such as financial information systems to produce reports on spend and contract. The main IT system used by the team is SAP.

To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills & experience:

  • Support the maintenance of administrative and financial systems within the procurement team including contracts and waiver registers
  • Support in maintaining  financial processes within the central procurement team; including creating, updating and managing contracts & catalogues
  • Manage sourcing including the new supplier set up process and reviewing low-value shopping carts that come from service areas
  • Identify anomalies in purchasing identifying trends and patterns to report to the Commercial Business Partner
  • Support the waiver process including advising departments on established contract rules.  This would then be reported back to a management Board 

What we are looking for …

  • Ability to demonstrate the knowledge of creating, developing & maintaining processes with the help of software packages such as excel, word & databases.
  • Ability to extract data of the systems and present it to show trends through graphs and charts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, colleagues and senior managers.
  • Able to develop effective relationships and joint working both with internal council staff and suppliers.
  • Understands the requirements for providing a high level of customer care service to internal and external customers.
  • Must have well-developed information technology skills – spreadsheet, word processing, database, presentation, internet etc other applications.
