Description

Harrow Council’s Adult Services is looking for an interim Team Leader, the post holder must be committed to the objective of developing a Unit which provides high quality care for people with learning disabilities and autism and is responsive to the changing needs of service users. This will involve providing an environment in which service users are encouraged to develop their skills at their own pace, and thereby attain their full potential in areas of social, emotional and developmental growth.  Consideration should always be given to using approaches that involve service users and as appropriate, their families, or advocates, in decision-making and making use of ‘mainstream’ resources to ensure that individuals are as fully integrated into the community as possible.

The post holder should be able to assist the registered Manager in performance management, to plan, monitor and supervise care staff. Be able to support the Care staff in formulating care plans and risk assessments in accordance with Harrow policy and support with the management and implementation of the staff rota.

To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills & experience:

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to chair meetings and to produce minutes
  • Ability to organise time and workload prioritise tasks needed for completion
  • Ability to make effective use of all resources (especially staff and budgets)
  • Ability to plan, organise, and monitor the work of a diverse staff team
  • Knowledge of the Health and Social care Act 2008 and associated regulations how the service run.
  • An understanding of the developmental needs (social, emotional, and physical) of adults who have severe learning disabilities.
  • To carry out risk assessments for staff and service users as delegated by the Manager.
