We are looking to recruit a Child Protection Chair to chair multi-disciplinary child protection conferences. The Child Protection Chairs take a lead role in driving improvements in child protection practice across the multi-agency partnership by placing vulnerable children and their families at the heart of all decision-making.

You will need to effectively develop practice and provide leadership in driving forward improvements in the quality of multi-agency child protection planning. You will need knowledge of best practice in working with children and families to ensure that child protection plans are robust, evidence based and outcome focused. Highly analytical with sound knowledge of relevant legislation, you will also play a central role in monitoring the effectiveness of multi-agency safeguarding practice as well as providing support and advice to Children Services colleagues

You will also be comfortable in chairing children looked after reviews when called upon.

You will be working closely with other Child Protection and Children Looked After chairs in evaluating and quality assuring social care practice within the Local Authority. You will be asked to lead on agreed safeguarding projects.

You must hold a social work qualification and be a Social Work England registered social worker. In addition, you will have had experience of reflective supervision of social workers.
