This is an excellent opportunity to join the HR Department at Harrow Council. The post holder will support HR & Payroll Operational Team in the delivery of a suite of statutory, regular and ad hoc reports to the council, council creditors and external customers. They will undertake and administer Payroll processes on related software system(s), primarily SAP. The post holder will process, maintain and monitor relevant records, produce standard letters, reports and related correspondence, checking outputs for validity, reconciliation and balancing of payroll and scheduling of customer reports – as required.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of all aspects of payroll and statutory reporting
  • Some knowledge and understanding of a range of local authority pay & conditions
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of employment law and its application and practice
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Tools including Word and Excel
  • An understanding of process design and development to improve efficiency and customer experience
  • Some payroll and administration experience gained in a large and complex organisation with multi-stakeholders involvement
  • Experience of using different IT systems and databases preferably SAP, SIMS and CIVICA
  • Demonstrable ability to build effective working relationships
