Overview

The Community Services Directorate at Harrow Council are looking for an Events Coordinator to join their team on a Fixed Term Basis until 29th October 2021.

A successful commercial venue hire business in the Great Barn is fundamental to the long-term sustainability of the Headstone Manor & Museum site. This role supports the Senior Events Officer in delivering corporate, functions, events and weddings in the Great Barn delivering excellent customer service, including being the main point of contact for selected clients, dealing with enquiries, providing viewings, and guiding clients through the process - from enquiry through to planning and coordination of the event.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • GCSE Maths & English grade A-C or equivalent
  • Knowledge of hospitality best practice and venue based event coordination
  • Sales experience within a hospitality environment with a proven track record in delivering excellent customer service
  • Experience of event coordination / delivery
  • Experience of and/or ability to meet the needs of diverse communities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organisational and practical problem solving skills
  • Able to work on own initiative and prioritise work loads
  • The ability to use standard office software and email with accuracy and attention to detail in written and numeric work
  • The ability to lift and move loads safely
