Overview

Harrow Council are currently recruiting for two Payroll Officers to join their Human Resources department to support the delivery of an effective and efficient schools payroll service, academies and any other payrolls administered by the council payroll team. The post holder will act as a first point of contact to handle and resolve payroll queries from managers and employees and external payroll customers.

About you

To be successful in this post, you will need to have the following skills and expertise:

  • Clear understanding of PAYE legislation and its application.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of a range of local authority pay & conditions.
  • Clear understanding of the fundamentals of employment law and its application and practice.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office Tools including Word and Excel.
  • Proven experience gained in a payroll and HR administration environment.
  • Experience of delivering a quality, proactive and customer-focussed service.
  • Demonstrable ability to build effective working relationships.
