Overview

We are looking for a Visitor Services Manager to join Headstone Manor & Museum, part of the Environment & Culture division at Harrow Council, on a job share basis. The successful candidate will fulfil an important role maximising visitor enjoyment by maintaining excellent customer service levels and ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the site on a day to day basis, with a particular focus on front of house delivery and income generation.

Headstone Manor & Museum provides a high-quality, accessible museum enabling Harrow residents to learn about and enjoy their local heritage. It is home to four historic listed buildings including a Grade 1 listed 14th century Manor House, a successful wedding and function venue, and café and retail offer. Harrow Council is the 12th largest London Borough and one of the most culturally diverse local authorities in the UK, making it a great place to live, work and visit. Located 10 miles from the city centre and just 13 minutes to Euston from Harrow & Wealdstone station there are great transport links via the Metropolitan Line, Watford DC Line and national rail service. It is easily accessible to the M1, M25 and A406.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience of facilities management within the arts/heritage/hospitality industry along with skills to carry out basic repairs and
  • Knowledge and experience of working in compliance to licensing and health and safety procedures and legislation, including food hygiene and accessibility.
  • Experience of managing front of house operations including café and retail offers.
  • Experience of managing a small team of people including the ability to organise rotas and shift systems.
